I stayed for 4 days the beginning of November 2006. New to Guanajuato,
I was lost for about an hour and a half trying to find this hotel due
to the roads and tunnels. Its a beautiful old restored home.
The suite I was given was absolutely beautiful, lovingly decorated.
I was moved however because of a problem with the hot water to one of the newer suites.
Beautiful rooms with a sweet front porch to read or relax.
The hotel is centrally located. The restaurant is very intimate and
breakfast is included. The fresh coffee, fruits and baked sweet breads were delicious.
I tried my first Huitlacoche (corn fungus) here in the form of crepes and they
were very good. Because Guanajuato is a vertical town it was about 7
flights up to the room, so be prepared. The staff was wonderful.
When my rental car battery died the day before I was leaving they made
sure I was not to worry and they would take care of the whole process.
Which they did. .

My husband and I stayed here right after labor Day weekend,
2006. It is a lovely place. We stayed in #10, Guelaguetza,
the top suite. It was a beautiful room. A huge bathroom with lots
of light and giant jacuzzi (which we never used). The room is at
the top of the property. There is ( a bizarre) pool which you
will not want to swim in ( but nice place for evening cocktails), below the room.
Nobody comes up so it feels like you're own.
The room itself was spacious and with a nice decor.
It is a 20 minute walk down a hill to downtown. We took taxi's back at night.
It costs anywhere from 20 to 30 peso one way. Breakfats came with the room, anything
you want which is extensive and well done. It is nice and quiet there.
I don't sleep well with any noise and it was fine. The town itself, (to me)
does not warrant many days. We like museums, food, and history. We were there
2 nights and that was plenty. I am glad we stayed there though. Staff is nice and is quite helpful.
They have a good free map that they will give you of the town. My husband and I had
originally booked four nights at Quinta Las Acacias, but after just one night we arranged
to extend our stay to six nights. This is one of the most lovely boutique hotels
we have visited in our travels. In earlier colonial days it was a stately mansion
that approximately eight years ago was restored and converted into this beautiful hotel.
The staff could not have been more accomodating and efficient. Ana Perez,
the general manager, seemed to be available 24/7 and easily assisted with any request..

We stayed at Quinta Las Acacias for 5 daysin July 2006 when we went to Guanajuato
to visit our son who was in the midst of his one-month Spanish immersion program.
We loved the the hotel. Our room was La Purepecha, in the back of the hotel, and the
setting couldn't be more charming and serene. The suite is comfortable, spacious, and
extremely clean although the housekeeping wasn't always very consistent (e.g., some nights
there were turn-down service, some nights there were not), but any request was quickly satisfied.
The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Although there was construction in progress
further to the back of the hotel, it didn't cause any inconvenience. The location is an easy
15 minute walk from the center. But one can also easily take a taxi to town, or better yet,
just take the city bus which runs frequently and efficiently from the hotel to town and back.
Guanajuato is a lovely town, and we're planning a return there soon..
